PROFILE AND RESEARCH INTERESTS
My research has evolved within the field of health services research and covers the examination of access to, and the use, costs, quality, delivery, organization, and outcomes of health care services to produce new knowledge about the structure, processes, and effects of health services for individuals and populations.
As senior researcher, the main topics have included patient pathways, continuity of care, follow-up, cross-sectoral coordination, clinical communication, digital health, rehabilitation, cancer care, mental health and patient and public involvement in research. I have focused on the different aspects of quality as perceived by patients and relatives, different groups of health care professionals and policy makers.
I have broad experience with epidemiological, experimental, and observational studies based on quantitative as well as qualitative designs. I have worked with various data sources including register data, questionnaire data from patients, relatives and health care professionals, and empirical data from interviews, observations, and (video)taped consultations. Furthermore, my experiences include the designing, completion, analysis and dissemination of 5 RCTs within the field of cancer rehabilitation and follow-up.
I prefer to work in appreciative, multidisciplinary teams and in the cross-field of research and quality improvement of care.
