Bio
Matias Diaz (S’15) was born in Santiago, Chile. He received the
B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Santiago of Chile, Chile, in 2011, and the
Ph.D. degree in electrical and electronic engineering from the University of Nottingham, Nottingham, U.K., and in
electrical engineering from the University of Chile, Santiago, Chile, in 2017.
From 2013 to 2015, he was the Subdirector of the School of Engineering, Duoc-UC, Chile. Currently, he is an
Assistant Professor with the University of Santiago, Santiago, Chile. His main research interests include the control
of wind energy conversion systems and multilevel converters.
