个人简介
Cynthia A. Wiltshire, Ed.D., is an Assistant Professor of Early Childhood Education in the Department of Teacher Education at the University of Texas at El Paso. Informed by 20 years of classroom teaching experience, she directs the Wiltshire Lab for Teachers and Children, where she and her team study how teacher well-being relates to child outcomes. Her work examines the relationships that exist between teachers and children in early childhood education settings, specifically the associations between teacher stress, teacher warmth, and child outcomes in cognitive and socioemotional development. She is particularly interested in listening to the lived experiences of early childhood educators, learning how best to improve their working conditions, and how this research might inform intervention and policy. Dr. Wiltshire received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, a master’s degree from New York University, and a subsequent master’s degree and doctoral degree from Teachers College, Columbia University.
