Cutmore, N G

Nicholas G. Cutmore FTSE received his B. Sc. degree in physics from the University of New South Wales, Australia, in 1977, and his Ph.D. degree in physics from the University of New South Wales, Australia, in 1981. From 1981 to 1983, he was a Research Associate at the University of New South Wales, Australia, working on novel scanning electron microscope methods for the rapid identification of minerals. He joined CSIRO in 1983 as a Research Scientist and his research interests have predominantly been in microwave and radio frequency technologies for the on-line analysis of materials in the minerals, coal and oil industries. He has overseen the development and managed the commercialization of the CSIRO Air Cargo Scanner technology. He is currently a CSIRO Theme Leader, at Lucas Heights, Sydney, NSW, Australia, where he initiates and shepherds the development and commercialization of novel measurement systems for global application in the minerals and security sectors. He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering.
