He is a member of the ISO/IEC JTC1/SC29 standardization committee, and member of the UNINFO Italian delegation for the WG1 JPEG activities. His main research activities and interests are focused on point cloud/light field/holography signal processing and coding, virtual reality and augmented reality applications, and quality of experience for immersive multimedia communications. He is a Senior Member of IEEE.
