个人简介
Since March 2008 she holds a permanent senior researcher position at CREA. She was born in Rome on May 26, 1968, and received her Master of Science degree in 1992 (with honour). She earned a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Applied Chemistry in 2005 and a Master's in Bioinformatics in 2009. She worked as a contract researcher and lecturer in Clinical Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Molecular Genetics at the University of Tuscia from 2000 to 2007. She works as an evaluator for the European Community and the Ministry of Research in Italy (MUR). She participates in national and international livestock research programs. She is a peer reviewer and editor for international journals. She leads the CREA-Monterotondo group for the Italian Goat Consortium's scientific work on goat species, as well as the international ADAPTmap and VarGoats projects. Her research focuses on using molecular biology, genetics, genomics, transcriptomic, metagenomics and bioinformatics tools to investigate lactation, disease resistance, productive and reproductive traits, products quality, climate adaptation and sustainability in domestic animal species. Studies on candidate genes for the discovery of polymorphisms (SNPs) and molecular markers to be employed in assisted genetic improvement (MAS) have been conducted over the years, as well as studies on the genetic diversity of animal species/breeds. Both sequencing techniques and SNP arrays are used in the aforesaid tasks. Dr. Crisà also deals with functional genetics and functional genomics studied both by RT-qPCR techniques and high throughput methodologies (RNAseq). The Dr. Crisà was coordinator of the national research project MIQUALAT ", funded by Mi.P.A.A.F. with D.M. 16844/7100/2019 of 11/04 2019 and expired 16/10/2021, whose general objective concerned the improvement of nutritional quality and the healthy image of milk for the contents in functional molecules with prebiotic and protective action. "Omics" technologies were used to study the genetic component associated with fine milk phenotypes in different cattle breeds. Dr. Crisà, as part of the REDDBOV project, funded by MIPAAF, Ministerial Decree 19735/7303/12, was responsible for the CROSSLAT research topic and currently coordinates the related activities. In this context, the experimental herd of dairy cattle was established based a two way rotational cross of Holstein Friesian and Simmenthal breeds, with the ultimate aim of exploiting the phenomenon of heterosis and verifying the possibility of improving the productive, reproductive parameters of the animal health and longevity and to increase the number of calves available for fattening in dairy farms.
