RESEARCH SUMMARY
Low-valent main group compounds, catalysis, small molecule activation, conjugated materials.
In line with this effort, my research program straddles the division between fundamental exploration and applied research, with a view toward designing new catalysts and functional materials for a more sustainable future. My research team at UBC Okanagan will explore the unique electronic properties of low-valent main group compounds and apply these systems in the design of highly active catalysts for industrially important reactions, as platforms for the exploration of challenging bond activations, and as precursors for organic electronic materials.
