Colin Seftor

My specialty is atmospheric remote sensing. I've developed and evaluated the performance of algorithms for ozone retrieval, including those for NASA's Total Ozone Mapping Spectrometer (TOMS) instruments, the Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI), and the Ozone Mapping and Profiler Suite (OMPS) sensor that is now in orbit on the Suomi NPP and NOAA 20 satellites and that will be flown on subsequent JPSS spacecraft. I also contributed to the design of the OMPS sensor to help maximize its performance. I've also helped create and assess the performance of new products from UV remote sensing, including SO2, the aerosol index, and UV surface flux.
