I worked for many years as a statistician and epidemiologist, with particular interests in radiation epidemiology and in spatial and temporal patterning of disease. I was formerly a consultant to the United Nations Scientific Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiation and a member of Committee 1 (Radiation Effects) of the International Commission on Radiological Protection. I have also served on panels that reviewed epidemiology sections at the US National Cancer Institute (2010) and the International Agency for Research on Cancer (2017).
