个人简介
A/Prof Claudia Di Bella is an academic orthopaedic surgeon with special interest in musculoskeletal oncology and tissue engineering. A/Prof Di Bella graduated in medicine and surgery in 2002 (Bologna University, Italy) and subsequently obtained her specialist recognition as orthopaedic surgeon in 2007 (Bologna University, Ita).
She then obtained her PhD in Oncology and Experimental pathology in 2012 (Bologna University). A/Prof Di Bella moved to Australia in December 2009, and in 2014 obtained the Fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. A/Prof Di Bella is an orthopaedic surgeon specialist in the treatment of osteoarthritis and bone and soft tissue tumors. Her research is focused on the biological treatment for bone and cartilage using innovative tissue engineering and bioprinting techniques. A/Prof Di Bella is the team leader of the Cartilage Regeneration Program of Research at the Department of Surgery - Melbourne University. This program of research is centred on the use of advanced 3D printing and biofabrication technologies for the regeneration of healthy articular cartilage both in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo. A/Prof Di Bella's research group includes scientists from a number of disciplines with extensive expertise in biomedical engineering, surgical 3D printing, stem cells biology, nanotechnology and mechanical engineering. Leveraging on national and international collaborations, A/Prof Di Bella's group is now recognised as one of the international leaders in the field of cartilage regeneration. A/Prof Di Bella has been awarded an NHMRC-MRFF EL1 investigator grant for his cartilage regeneration program of research (2020-2025)
