个人简介
Born at Milan (Italy) on October 11, 1950, graduated in Veterinary Medicine at
the University of Milan in 1973, licensed to practice (Veterinary Medicine) in
1973. She has been Assistant Professor (1974-1978) and then Senior Assistant
Professor of Histology (1978-1981) at The Faculty of Veterinary Anatomy of the
University of Milan. From 1981 to 2002 she has been Associate Professor of
Histology and then of Vertebrate Zoology at the same Faculty. From 2002 to
present she is Full Professor of Veterinary Anatomy.
Cinzia Domeneghini is the Head of the Department of Veterinary Sciences and
Technologies for Food Safety (2007/2010).
Professor Domeneghini is a teacher of Veterinary Anatomy in the degree
course of “Animal rearing and wellbeing”, as well as in several courses of
specialization and the post-graduate school of “Veterinary Sciences for Animal
Health and Food Safety” of the University of Milan.
She is author and co-author of around 250 publications, chapters in books and
abstracts. Her scientific activity concerns the structural study of the gut neuro-
endocrine system in vertebrates, with special emphasis to mammals and fish. In
this respect, the gut intramural innervation and the epithelial cells of the diffuse
endocrine system are morphologically analyzed. The alimentary canal of
mammals and fish is analyzed also with the aim of describing possible morphofunctional
consequences of various dietary supplementations. Glycoconjugate
secretions are studied in the alimentary canal of both uninfected and
parasithized fish. In addition, she studies the morphofunctional aspects of
reproductive organs in different mammalian species, with emphasys to the
peptidergic innervation and glycoconjugate secretions. Evaluation also of the
compatibility and integration of bio-materials in animal models has been
recently approached, as well as the study of “post-mortem intervals” in animal
models.
Techniques are used in her scientific activity, which primarily concern
histological, histo-and immunohistochemical methods, sometimes
accompanied by quantitative evaluations (histometry).
