Bio
Dr. Dias' research focuses on the contribution of nutrients and nutraceuticals to the prevention of chronic diseases. She has a special interest in lipid metabolism and how it may modulate Alzheimer’s and cardiovascular disease risk. She has been working with nutritional interventions for 8 years. She has a Ph.D. in Pharmacy (University of Newcastle, Australia) and a Master and Bachelor of Food Sciences (the State University of Campinas and the University of Sao Paulo, respectively, both in Brazil).
Dr. Dias is currently studying the potential of medium-chain fatty acids in the prevention of Alzheimer’s disease. She is also coordinating the Macquarie site for the Australian Dementia Network (ADNeT) and contributing to the Testosterone-Omega Three (DHA) in Amyloid Lowering study.
