个人简介
Decades of experience in earth science, especially focusing on atmospheric-ocean numerical simulation, development in machine learning, and data science. Currently, Data Scientist for the Gulf of Mexico Coastal Ocean Observing System (GCOOS) and data manager for the GCOOS LDM (Local Data Manager) System, GCOOS data portal, and GCOOS data storage, and cooperated as an ocean data expert for the Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative Information and Data Cooperative (GRIIDC).
GCOOS is hosted, aggregated, and disseminated the coastal, near-shore, and open-water near-real-time met-ocean observations in the regions of the Gulf of Mexico, in close collaboration with data providers from five states that borders the Gulf and the National Data Buoy Center (NDBC), Marine Biodiversity Observation Network
(MBON), Oil&Gas companies like Shell. Data are streamed from the sources on a regular interval and processed in near-real-time. These near-real-time data are served in OpenGIS Consortium (OGC) Sensor Observation Service (SOS) compliant using the latest schema developed by the U.S. Integrated Ocean Observing System (IOOS), and other data standards like netCDF.
In addition, Dr. Hsu also cooperated with data assimilation development on Regional Community Earth System Model (RCESM)with Texas A&M University (TAMU) (International Laboratory for High-Resolution Earth System Prediction) iHESP and participant in the Earth Science Information Partners (ESIP) program.
