个人简介
Trained as human geographer and environmental scientist, Christine Noe offers qualitative perspectives on human-nature relations in general and rural livelihoods, land ownership and tenure dynamics in particular. Her academic background in land use planning and environmental studies (Bachelor degree), Geography and Environmental Management (Master Degree) and Environmental and Geographical Science (PhD) have propelled her current involvement in different research projects around these areas. Currently, she works primarily on conservation and borders (in collaboration with Prof. Maano Ramutsindela of University of Cape Town). She is also Principal Investigator for New Conservation Partnerships for Sustainability project (in collaboration with Prof. Stefano Ponte of Copenhagen Business School), Livelihood Change in Tanzania (in collaboration with Prof. Dan Brockington of Sheffield Institute for International Development) and Greenmentality (in collaboration with Prof. Tor Benjaminsen of Norwegian University of Life Sciences). She has accumulated research experience that contributes to building the capacity of young academic staff members at the Department of Geography at the University of Dar es Salaam as well as contributing knowledge about the emerging issues of human-nature relations and rural livelihood dynamics in Tanzania. She served as Director of Research and Publication for the University of Dar es Salaam in January 2018 and mid 2019.
