Bio
Christie J. Avraamides received her B.S. in Biology from Boston College, in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. She then received her Ph.D. from Temple University School of Medicine in Phildelphia, Pennsylvania, USA where she pursued studies in the laboratories of T. Panetti and A. Tsygankov on endothelial cell migration and signal transduction, particularly focusing on LPA-mediated cell migration mechanisms. Dr. Avraamides is currently pursuing postdoctoral studies in J.V.'s laboratory at the University of California, San Diego Moores Cancer Center in La Jolla, California, USA. She is studying the role of integrin activation and signal transduction in the regulation of growth factor and tumour-induced angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis. Her research includes identification of integrin-binding proteins that modulate angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis in vitro and in vivo .
