Christian Klepp

Christian Klepp received the Ph.D. degree in meteorology and geology from the University of Hamburg, Hamburg, Germany, in 2001. His doctoral dissertation was dedicated to water cycle component analysis derived from satellite data with focus on North Atlantic precipitation evaluation using different satellite, model, and ship data. He is currently with Integrated Climate System Analysis and Prediction (CliSap), KlimaCampus, University of Hamburg, on the development, evaluation, and validation of the Hamburg Ocean Atmosphere Parameters and fluxes from Satellite data satellite climatology. Within Clisap, he is currently organizing long-term field studies over the Nordic Seas that will contribute to the global precipitation measurement ground validation activities. He is a member of the ocean surface turbulent flux project SEAFLUX and the International Precipitation Working Group. He has participated in the design and implementation of oceanic cold-season high-latitude field campaigns on in situ measurements of quantitative precipitation using disdrometers.
