Chintan Thakkar

Chintan Thakkar (Member, IEEE) received the B.Tech. and M.Tech. degrees (integrated) in electronics and electrical communication engineering from IIT Kharagpur, Kharagpur, India, in 2007, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of California at Berkeley (UC Berkeley), Berkeley, CA, USA, in 2010 and 2012, respectively. He led the high-performance mm-Wave research team at Intel Labs, Hillsboro, OR, USA, from 2015 to 2019. He has held visiting researcher positions at Microsoft Research, Redmond, WA, USA, the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, Ann Arbor, MI, USA, Rambus Inc., Los Altos, CA, USA, and Intel Corporation, Hillsboro, OR, USA, where he was involved in digital, analog, and mixed-signal integrated circuits for switched-capacitor dc–dc converters, on-die jitter measurement, high-speed I/O and 60-GHz communications. His current research focuses on the design of energy-efficient mm-Wave wireless integrated circuits and systems. Dr. Thakkar received the Indian Academy of Sciences Fellowship in 2004, the UC Berkeley Regents Fellowship for graduate studies in 2007, the 2011 Intel Corporation Ph.D. Fellowship, the 2011 Symposium on VLSI Circuits Best Student Paper Award, and the 2018 Intel Labs Gordon E. Moore Award.
