Chi-Cheng Ju

Chi-Cheng Ju was born in Pingtung, Taiwan, China, in 1973. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electronics engineering from National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan, in 1995 and 1997, respectively. In the military service from 1997 to 1998, he was an Electronic Lieutenant with the Navy Weather Center, Taiwan. In 1999, he joined Mediatek, Inc., Hsinchu, Taiwan. In 2005, 2008, and 2013, his team further received the MediaTek Research Innovation Award. From 2006 to 2010, he was the Project Leader and a Chip Design Supervisor of Blu-ray player projects in MediaTek, Inc. Since 2010, he has been a charge of camera ISP algorithm and circuit design, video codec circuit design and as an Assistant General Manager of the Multimedia Department Division, MediaTek, Inc. He has led his team successively to join MediaTek, Inc., different projects such as smartphone, feature phone, tablet, ASIC, digital TV, and optical disk player. He has authored more than 150 patents and international conference proceedings. His major research interests include camera ISP, AR/VR/MR technology development, HEVC/H.264/MPEG multi-standard video encoder/decoder and international VR standardization activities (H.266/JVET/OMAF/IEEE 1857.9), ADAS ISP development, computer vision algorithms, SoC architecture design, SoC chip design flow, video processing algorithm, and associated VLSI architectures. He serves as a TPC Member and a Subcommittee Chair in Asian Solid-State Circuit Conference from 2009 to 2013 and in 2019. He is also a Member of the Phi Tan Phi Scholastic Honor Society. In 2004, he received the MediaTek Innovation Award for his distinguished contributions to super combo video decoder development.
