Interest Areas
The main focus of my lab is bio-nanotechnology and their applications in bioengineering, there are three major directions we are pursuing:
Development of molecular-level, nano-biosensors for detection and characterization of pathogens (microorganisms and toxins), with applications in food safety and disease diagnosis. Incorporation of nanotechnology with bioengineering to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of bio-processing, with applications in development of techniques for biofuel, functional food and drug development. Development of nano-sensors and nano-tools for environmental evaluation and environmental engineering.
