Bio
As a senior silicon photonics design engineer at Alpine Optoelectronics, Inc., I design, develop, and test integrated photonic devices/chips for next-generation transceiver and optical interconnect products. I have a strong background and passion for optics, integrated photonics, optical communication, and electronic-photonic design automation.
I have multiple PIC tape-out and testing experiences in both industry (10+) and academia (5+), and I am proficient in various coding-based layout tools(e.g., Luceda ipkiss3, gdsfactory and synopsys photonic solutions) and silicon photonic device design/optimization with python/lumerical/Tidy3D. I also have rich experience in die/wafer/transceiver-level test automation, and high-speed testing.
I obtained my Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering at The University of Texas at Austin, where I have been involved in cutting-edge research on hardware-efficient silicon photonic-electronic neural chips for AI acceleration and silicon photonic-electronic chips for high-speed and energy-efficient digital computing. I have 50+ publications during my Ph.D study, and I also won several awards for my publications and designs.
