个人简介
Dr. Chella Perumal Palanisamy is a young researcher who possesses advanced skills in the field of molecular biology. Additionally, he holds expertise in the synthesis of nanomaterials based on biomaterials, the study of bioactive compounds, computational molecular simulations, and the process of drug discovery, design, and development. These qualifications collectively position him as a suitable lead researcher for the research projects.
Dr. Palanisamy started his career with Bachelor of Science in Zoology with Biotechnology, then Master of Science in Bioinformatics. His unbounded thirst for probing deep into these subjects coupled with his deep aptitude for research in Computational Drug Discovery and Molecular Biology has inspired him to pursue a Master of Philosophy in Bioinformatics; the thesis entitled “Exploring the selectivity of ligand complexed with CDK1/CDK2 by molecular modelling approach” has been published in Journal of Molecular Recognition - Wiley Online Library in 2012. His passion towards starch-based nanomaterials synthesis, Computational Biology and Medicinal Chemistry has motivated him to work on various projects. He has received the award of Senior Research Fellow (ICMR-SRF) form Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi, India in 2014, where his research was mainly focused on “In silico and in vitro analysis of bioactive compounds isolated from Cayratia trifolia (L.) against ovarian cancer cell lines”. Later he was selected for partial PhD studies in the University of Szeged, Hungary, it was selected by Hungarian Scholarship Board (HSB), Budapest, Hungary in 2014, with the project entitled “Isolation of bioactive compounds from Cayratia trifolia (L.) against ovarian cancer cell lines”.
He has done a Doctoral research (PhD) in computational molecular biology (Bioinformatics) in 2015 with the PhD thesis entitled "Isolation, structural characterization and anti-ovarian cancer potential of bioactive compounds from ethanolic extract of Cayratia trifolia (L)"; in this research totally six bioactive compounds were isolated from the medicinal plant and three compounds were filed for Indian patent.
He got his first postdoctoral position in the period January 2017 to December 2019 with the research entitled “Anti-ovarian cancer potential of bioactive compounds from Euclea crispa leaves extracts” at Phytomedicine and Phytopharmacology Research Group, Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences, University of the Free State, South Africa. Far ahead he got the second postdoctoral position in the period January 2020 to December 2021 with the research entitled “Preparation, Mechanism and Application of Starch-based Nano-cellulose Scaffolds for wounding Healing” at State Key Laboratory of Biobased Material and Green Papermaking, College of Food Science and Engineering, Qilu University of Technology, Shandong Academy of Science, Jinan 250353, China. Later he got, C2F Postdoctoral fellowship with the research title “Fabrication and characterization of novel 3D printed starch-based nanofibrous scaffolds incorporated with bioactive compounds (from Nigella sativa (L.) DC.) for wound healing application” at Department of Chemical Technology, Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand (May 2022 to date).
In his research career, Dr. Palanisamy has published more than 51 research articles in various peerreviewed, international journals, 4 book chapters and 3 natural products filed for Indian patents. In his academic career, Dr. Palanisamy got several awards and honours such as, in 2011 he received University Rank during the M.Phil study from Alagappa University, Karaikudi, India, in 2014 received the award of Senior Research Fellowship from Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi, India, in 2014, received Type C2-Partial PhD studies scholarship from Hungarian Scholarship Board (HSB), Budapest, Hungary. He received the SPER-Young Scientist Award at International Conference on Novel Approaches in Cancer Research and Therapy (NACRAT-2017) held on 27-28th June 2017 in Saveetha University, Chennai and also he has received the Postdoctoral Research Fellow award at the department of Plant Sciences, University of the Free State, South Africa on January 2017.
He recommends himself as a sincere worker who can formulate experimental hypotheses, analyse and interpret scientific data. He has a good interactive personality, with multi-tasking, neat planning and execution capabilities. He is sure, he will be fitted to the research project's requirements.
