个人简介
Charles Roeder was born in central Pennsylvania, and has past experience in building construction and in structural design of offshore structures. He served two years in the US Army at Fort Polk, Louisiana, and Vietnam. He joined the faculty of the University of Washington in 1977. He is a registered professional engineer in Colorado and Washington.
He is a member of professional organizations including ASCE, AISC, SEI, and SEAW. He is presently a member of the Institutional Board of the Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Center and the AISC TC7, TC9 and CPRP standards subcommittees. He is editor for International Journal of Steel Structures, and member of editorial boards of Earthquake Engineering and Structural Dynamics and the Journal of Constructional Steel Research. He was a past member of the Executive Committee for the ASCE/Structural Engineering Institute, and the Boards of Directors of ATC and the NEES Consortium. He participated in the FEMA Guidelines for Seismic Rehabilitation of Buildings, and was the Team Leader for Connection Performance on the FEMA supported SAC Steel Project. He co-authored (with John Stanton) the AASHTO Specifications for the design of bridge bearings. He has served as chair of national technical committees including the TRB A2C02 Steel Bridge, ASCE Seismic Effects and ASCE Technical Administrative Con Dynamic Effects Committees
