Postdoc researcher in the Biomaterials, Biomechanics and Tissue Engineering Research Group (BBT) of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering (CEM) of the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC-BarcelonaTech, Barcelona, Spain) within the "Atmospheric Pressure plAsma meets biomaterials for bone Cancer HEaling - APACHE" European Research Council (ERC) project, since october 2017.
Previous PostDoc position in the Biomimetics, Biocarriers and Bioimplants (The 3Bs) research group, in the Department of Micro- and Nanotechnology of the Technical University of Denmark (DTU Nanotech, Kongens Lyngby, Denmark). Research work in the field of encapsulation of molecules in colloidal systems, polymer capsules, multicompartment carriers (capsosomes) to conduct enzymatic/biological reactions and microreactors for combinatorial therapy.
PhD. degree obtained with Excellent Cum Laude in 2014 by the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC, Spain) by presenting the Doctoral Thesis on "Treatment of Textile Surfaces by Plasma Technology for Biomedical Applications". Research topic of the Thesis focused on the surface modification of the synthetic fibers and the drug/fiber interactions by low temperature plasma treatment of the fibres to allow the modulation of the loading and the release of the active principles and design textile-based drug delivery systems, without requiring the use of additional chemicals.
Author of multiple publications in JCR international journals with high impact factors (Biomaterials, Adv. Healthc. Mater., ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces, Appl. Surf. Sci., Plasma Process. Polym., Plasma Chem. Plasma Proc., etc.). Scientific communications in international conferences on surface science, plasma technology, textile fibres, multicompartment carriers, biomedical applications and drug release from textile fibres previously modified by low-temperature plasma.
Master degree in Nanosciences and Nanotechnology obtained in 2009 by the University of Barcelona (UB, Spain).
Researcher involved in several research projects on biomedical textiles, polymer fibers, plasma processes and drug delivery of cosmetic and pharmaceutical active principles in the:
