个人简介
Elizabeth Mwaniki holds a PhD and a Master of Education degree in Educational Psychology from Kenyatta University. She also holds a Bachelor of Education (Arts) Honours degree from Moi University as well as other certificates in ICT integration in teacher education from the Commonwealth of Learning and Staff and Educational Development Association (SEDA) of UK. She is currently a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Educational Psychology, Kenyatta University where her research interests are in Cognitive Processes, Tests and Measurement, Teacher Education and integration of ICT in teaching and learning for enhanced learner experiences and learning outcomes. She is also the former Coordinator, Teaching and Quality Assurance at the Kenyatta University Digital School of Virtual and Open Learning.
Elizabeth has undertaken a lot of training on design and development of online learning modules and online facilitation and is in fact a certified trainer in the same having acquired the coveted Supporting Technology Enabled Learning (STEL) and Developing People and Enhancing Practice (DPEP) certificates from SEDA UK in 2018. In 2019, she was contracted by SEDA to be a lead trainer in the second iteration of Developing Blended Learning (DBL) course for East African lecturers under the Partnerships for Enhanced Blended Learning (PEBL) project that was funded by Strategic Partnerships for Higher Education Innovation and Reform (SPHEIR) and managed by Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU). From 2020 to 2021, she was a SEDA - appointed mentor to the Course Leads for the 3rd iteration of the DBL course.
Elizabeth has built capacities of hundreds of University academic staff not just in Kenyatta University but also in other Universities in the region and beyond in online instructional content design, online facilitation and online assessment. She was among a team of five certified trainers from Kenyatta University that quickly trained University academic staff on how to transition to online learning at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic that disrupted learning worldwide. She is passionate about integrating technology into knowledge and pedagogical practices to impact the teaching learning process in an innovative yet interesting way that not only captures the interest of the learner but also inculcates 21st century skills so necessary for the world of work.
