Bio
Catherine K. Kuo received a B.S.E. in materials science and engineering in 1997 and a joint Ph.D. in biomaterials and macromolecular science and engineering in 2002 from the University of Michigan. She specialized in the development and characterization of scaffolds for tissue engineering applications. Currently, she is a postdoctoral fellow at the Cartilage Biology and Orthopaedics Branch at the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases at the NIH where she investigates the potential of adult mesenchymal stem cells in musculoskeletal tissue engineering applications.
