Bio
Carlos Gay-García received the Physics degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Mexico City, Mexico, in 1969, and the Ph.D. degree from the Department of Astro Geophysics, University of Colorado Boulder, Boulder, CO, USA, in 1978.
He has developed research projects in radiative transfer; solar and atmospheric radiation; natural resources, environment, and radiation, and, since 1988, global climate change (physics basis, impacts, vulnerability, adaptation, and mitigation) with national and foreign funds. All these topics outline his research interests on which he has over 50 papers published in peer-reviewed journals and many other collaborations in published books (as editor and/or author).
Dr. Gay-García is a Researcher in Chief of the Climate Change and Solar Radiation Research Group, Institute of Atmospheric Sciences and Climate Change. He has been the Director of the former Atmospheric Sciences Centre, UNAM, a Coordinator of PINCC-UNAM (Climate Change Research Program-UNAM), among other charges.
