Research interests
Recently, my scientific interests are focused on developing new technologies to repair and modify organ for transplantation.In order to overcome the limitations of the current technologies we have established a new research-clinical unit, RPA translational center for organ assessment, repair, and optmization (COARO). This unit will not simply assess if an organ is suitable to transplantation, but will develop new revolutionary technologies that will allow us to repair and modify the organs.In particular I am leading a research team that is developing a perfusion system that can extend the survival of liver and kidney up to 7 days.

Another area of research is Liver Transplant Oncology. I am developing new protocols for the management of patients with unresectable cholangiocarcinoma and colorectal metastases
