Bio
Carl Van Geem has been a research and development engineer at Kineo CAM since 2001. He received the M.S. degree in mathematics from the University of Antwerp, Belgium, in 1990 and the Ph.D. in technical mathematics from the Johannes Kepler University in Linz, Austria, in 1996.
In 1996–1997, he participated in the Computational Geometry Algorithms Library (CGAL) project as a postdoc at the Research Institute for Symbolic Computation. He worked at Laboratoire d'Analyse et d'Architecture des Systernès du Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (LAAS-CNRS) from 1997 to 2000 and participated in the Motion for Logistics (MOLOG) project from 1999–2002. At Kineo CAM, he develops and integrates new techniques oriented to motion planning applications. He is now the team manager of the European Motion Planning in Virtual Environments (MOVIE) project (2003–2005) at Kineo CAM.
