Bio
Dr. Chenzhen Ji is a research professor at School of Mechanical Engineering, Tongji University, Shanghai, China. He is a core faculty member of the Efficient and Clean Energy Utilization group. His research activities focus fundamental science and engineering applications of gas turbine clean combustion technology, combustion instability and its control, aeroacoustics and multi-physics modelling. He was previous a post-doctoral research associate at the School of Design Engineering at Imperial College London working on energy storage systems with Prof. Peter Childs and Dr. Billy Wu. He gained his PhD from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2016 on the gas turbine combustion instability control, under the supervision of Prof. Dan Zhao. He manages and is involved in a number of research projects founded by NFSC, STCSM, MOE China. He has published over 30 peer-viewed journal articles including Applied Energy, Energy, Journal of Sound and Vibration, Aerospace Science and Technology, etc., and acted as a guest editor of journal of Aerospace and reviewer of several top journals. He has participated in numerous international conferences for oral presentations and invited talks, such as ICSV, AIAA Conference, Newton Research link Workshop, and obtained “Best Paper Award” on the 13th International Conference on Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics and Thermodynamics. He is now a member of ASME and China Society of Power Engineering.
