Bio
Craig L. Stevens received the B.E. degree in civil engineering from the University of Adelaide, South Australia, in 1987 and the Ph.D. degree in civil and environmental engineering in 1992 from the Centre for Water Research, University of Western Australia.
He is a Principal Scientist in marine physics with the New Zealand National Institute for Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA). He held a Canadian NSERC International Postdoctoral Fellowship with the Department of Civil Engineering, University of British Columbia, Canada, during 1991–1996. In 1996, he joined NIWA where his interests extend over a range of environmental fluid mechanics topics including surface and internal waves and related mixing, the effects of ocean waves on macrophytes, and transport in stratified fluids.
