个人简介
Dr Suvash C. Saha is working as a Senior Lecture of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). Before joining at UTS he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Full time) in the school of Chemistry, Physics and Mechanical Engineering of Queensland University of Technology (QUT) for more than six years. Even though he was appointed as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at QUT he was allowed to supervise PhD students as a principal and co-supervisor and teach and coordinate several engineering subjects. Dr. Saha received his PhD degree from James Cook University, Australia in 2009. His PhD research focused on developing advanced CFD modelling and extensive mathematical analysis (called scaling analysis) of the transient boundary layer development inside attic shaped buildings.
Dr. Saha completed his honours in Mathematics and Masters’ in Applied Mathematics from Dhaka University in 1996 and 1997 respectively. He was in a thesis group of his masters’ study and got a chance to work with Professor Anwar Hossain. Working with Prof. Hossain’s group he received lots of encouragement of conducting research from Prof. Hossain and his research team. Recently, Stanford University, USA and the Elsevier Publishing Group (ICSR Lab) jointly surveyed and listed top 2% researchers all over the world. Both Dr. Saha and Prof. Hossain are in that list in the main field of Mechanical Engineering and Transport and sub-field of Numerical & Computational Mathematics.
Through his scholarly, innovative, high quality research, Dr. Saha has established his national and international standing. He is one of the most productive and diligent mid-career researchers in the area of CFD application to bio-fluid mechanics, particle flow, heat transfer and energy storage as can be seen from his publication record. Through his connection with industry in Australia he has secured two ARC Linkage grants in 2015 (total ~$1m). He also received research funding from Department of Science and Technology, Defence Innovation Network (DIN) and Department of Industry, Innovation and Science. He is also involved securing three funding in China, “National Natural Science Foundation of China”.
Dr. Saha Mentored three Postdoctoral Research Fellows and three international visiting fellows. There are 12 PhD students who completed their studies under his supervision (Principal/Co-Supervisor). Two of his Bangladeshi PhD students have completed their degree and joined at UTS as a lecturer and Postdoctoral Research Fellow.
