Bio
Cristobal Padilla received the Ph.D. degree in physical sciences from the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB), Barcelona, Spain, in 1995.
He has been working in particle physics experiments, where he has made substantial contributions in instrumentation, reconstruction, and data acquisition software and analysis. He has been the Deputy Physics Coordinator at Hadron-Electron Ring Accelerator (HERA-B) and responsible of the A Toroidal LHC Apparatus (ATLAS) High Level Trigger during the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) start. Since 2012, he has also been working on observational cosmology. He is a member of the PAU, the Dark Energy Survey (DES), the ESA-Euclid Mission, and the Dark Energy Science Collaboration (DESC) in the Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST) at the Vera Rubin Observatory. He is currently the Director of the Technical Division, Institut de Física d’Altes Energies (IFAE), UAB.
Dr. Padilla serves as an Editor for the Journal for Instrumentation.
