Bio
His mission is to obtain rigorous scientific information on the biophysical factors affecting the growth and development of trees in urban and peri-urban areas in order to be able to optimize the methods of intervention on these and allow a more harmonious cohabitation between trees and Hydro-Québec infrastructures. He also holds the Canada Research Chair (level 1) on forest resilience in the face of global changes, which aims to improve our ability to manage forests to effectively increase their resilience. His research interests are broad, ranging from fundamental understanding of tree growth and mortality, to the development of decision tools for better management of natural and urban forest harvesting.
