个人简介
Dr. (Mrs) Chakravadhanula Manikyamba (born on 1st July 1960) Scientist from National
Geophysical Research Institute, Hyderabad has made significant contributions, in a research
career spanning 28 years, in the field of Precambrian Geology-Geochemistry, Mineral
Exploration through detailed field and laboratory studies. She is an active scientist with a
special blend for interpreting different geological and geochemical data. Through detailed
field and laboratory studies she has identified different zones of gold mineralization in
Sandur schist belt and studied the fluid/rock interaction in the Badrampalli abandoned gold
mines of Penakacherla schist belt. She has conducted detailed field and laboratory studies in
Sandur, Penakacherla, Gadwal, Hutti, Siggeguda, Jonnagiri, Kadiri and Bababudan
greenstone belts of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh; identified/reported different rock types.
Dr. Manikyamba’s studies on volcanic and sedimentary rocks of different greenstone belts of
Karnataka contributed significantly for the understanding of the tectonic setting and the
genetic processes responsible for iron, manganese and gold mineralization.
Dr Manikyamba has been elected as a Fellow of many professional scientific bodies. She was
awarded the CSIR Young Scientist Award in (1995), Dr. B.P. Radha Krishna Best Paper
Prize (1999), prestigious National Mineral Award (2002), from Ministry of Mines,
Government of India and Andhra Pradesh Scientist Award (2008) by the Andhra Pradesh
State Council for Science and Technology.
The society is pleased to award medal and a merit certificate for the best contribution in the
field of Geochemistry applied to mineral resources during last ten years i.e. 1999-2008.
