Bio
A/Prof Catherine Granger is an Associate Professor and Dame Kate Campbell Fellow in the Department of Physiotherapy, The University of Melbourne. She is also the Head of Physiotherapy Research at The Royal Melbourne Hospital.
She is a Fellow of the Australian College of Physiotherapists (FACP) as awarded in 2020. A/Prof Granger is a Victorian Cancer Agency Clinical Research Fellow (2017 - ) and past NHMRC Translating Research Into Practice Fellow (2014 - 2016). She completed her PhD and post-docs in the area of physical activity/exercise in lung cancer. She has published over 85 peer reviewed journal articles and currently has an active research program focused on the areas of exercise, physical activity and patient outcomes for chronic disease patient populations including cancer (lung, colorectal and haematological cancer), critical illness and respiratory diseases. She supervises a number of PhD students working on these projects and is available to take on new students. A/Prof Granger was the 2017 Victorian Young Tall Poppy Scientist of the Year; and named as one of the ABC's Top 5 Scientists for 2018. In 2019 she was awarded one of the inaugural University of Melbourne's Dame Kate Campbell Fellowships (Dean’s Fellowships for Research Excellence) (2020-2024).
