个人简介
Dr. Can Koral was born in Ankara, Turkey in 1983.
He received the B.Sc. Degree in Physics and the M.Sc. in Micro and Nanotechnology at the Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey, respectively in 2005 and 2012, and the PhD in Chemical Sciences at the University of Bari "Aldo Moro ”, Bari, Italy, in 2016.
From 2006 to 2012 he was involved in several research and development projects in Turkey as a Research Engineer first with the company Nanomagnetics, then with the Nanotechnology Research Center (NANOTAM) and the Institute of Materials Science and Nanotechnology (UNAM ), Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey.
He was also a visiting researcher at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Laser Material Interactions Group (USA) in 2015.
In Italy, he was postdoctoral fellow first at the Department of Chemistry, University of Bari “Aldo Moro”, Bari, in 2016, and then at the Department of Physics, University of Naples “Federico II”, Naples, in 2017. From 2018 to 2021 he was postdoctoral fellow at the INFN Section of Naples. From May 2021 until May 2022 he was postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Physics, University of Naples “Federico II”.
He is an active member of the Reviewer Board of the MDPI academic publishing group and is a referee for numerous international scientific journals.
He obtained the National Scientific Qualification as an Associate University Professor both in Experimental Physics of Matter and Applied Physics
He is currently an Assistant Professor (RTD-B t.det. L.240) in Applied Physics (FIS / 07) at the Department of Science,University of Basilicata.
His research combines applications based on advanced spectroscopy techniques (LIBS, THz-TDS, FTIR, Ellipsometry) including applied physics, analytical chemistry, biomedical, experimental physics, optics and photonics, materials science. His activity focuses on laser and material interactions, qualitative and quantitative material analyzes, development of opto-mechanical projects, engineering and characterization of meta-material and nano-material based sensors, for advanced biomedical, pharmaceutical, environmental and cultural heritage investigations.
