个人简介
BK. Singh was awarded with his Ph.D. from Department of Physics & Astrophysics, University of Delhi in December, 2010 (Supervisor: Prof. Binay Kumar). Major part of his thesis titled “Structural, Piezoelectric, Dielectric, Optical and Electrical Characterization of Flux Grown Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)0.91Ti0.09O3 Single Crystal” deals with the optimization of the flux growth conditions of PZN-PT crystals near its morphotropic phase boundary. After fine tuning and optimization of growth parameters, he successfully grown high quality single crystals with a very high piezoelectric charge coefficient (2183 pC/N) and a high coupling coefficient of these material near its MPB. During his Ph.D. training, he successfully utilized various scientific tools like X-Ray Diffractometer, PE Hysteresis loop tracer, SEM, AFM, Impedance Analyzer, UV-Vis, TEM etc. for completion of his thesis. During his Ph.D., he published a total of 12 papers in SCI journal out of which 6 were from the thesis work. Furthermore, during his Ph.D., he was also an active member of the projects titled “Synthesis of High Performance Piezoelectric Ceramic & Crystals for Device Fabrication, DST, New Delhi, India” and “Growth of Device Level Non-Linear Optical Organic/Semi- Organic Single Crystals by Various Methods, DU DST Purse Grant, Delhi University, India”.
In November 2010, he was awarded with Dr. D.S. Kothari Postdoctoral Fellowship (Ref No. F.4-2/2006(BSR)13-363/2010(BSR)), subsequently, he joined Crystal Growth Centre, Anna University to carry out his research titled “Growth, Quality enhancement and investigation of the relaxor behaviour of Technologically important pure and doped PZN-PT single crystals near its morphotropic phase boundary”.
In January 2011, he was appointed as Lecturer (as per 5th pay scale) in Amity Institute for Advanced Research & Studies (M&D), Amity University, Noida, where he was involved in teaching and training of M.Tech and B.Tech (Renewable Energy) students. Apart from various practical classes the major courses taught was Thermodynamics, Solid State Physics and Material Science and Electronic Devices. In addition, during his short tenure of 1 year in Amity University, he filed 1 Indian patent (“A novel room temperature, low cost, alarm based LPG sensor”, India Patent Application No. 3358/DELNP/2011, Filed on November 24, 2011) and published 1 paper.
In 2012, BK. Singh joined TEMA, Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Aveiro, Portugal as grantee of a postdoctoral grant (SFRH/BPD/76184/2011) from the Foundation of Science and Technology (FCT), Government of Portugal and worked on the scientific research topic “Synthesis and characterization in respect of structural, dielectric, mechanical and piezoelectric behavior for various organic/inorganic piezoelectric materials” and, later on, in year 2015, after successful evaluation, the grant was extend for another 3 year for the evaluation of proposed project entitled “High performance flexible organic/inorganic Nanocomposites based piezoelectric materials for harvesting green energy”. During his work in Portugal, he was dedicated to explore nanoscale phenomena by investigating domain structures, switching processes in organic/inorganic crystals, ceramics, films, fibers and composites using some cutting-edge technology like atomic force microscopy (AFM), Piezo-force microscopy (PFM), Nano-indentation etc. Moreover, he successfully configured a small cluster computing network for theoretical modelling of solids using WIEN2k code.
In August, 2019 he joined Central University of south bihar as Associate professor.
He is an active member of the organizing and scientific committee of the International Conferences on Advanced Nano Materials (ANM 2014,2016,2017), and was also associated with National conference in Advanced technological materials (NC-ATIC) held in Delhi University, Delhi, India in year 2009. Apart from these research activities, he has learned many programming languages (C, C++, Python, Java, Visual Basic) and is very much proficient in computer hardware and networking.
