Bio
Brian Shiels currently works at the Institute of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation, University of Glasgow. Brian does research in Animal Health, Molecular Biology and Parasitology. The main focus of the lab is tick-borne parasites. Current research is investigating cattle breed tolerance for Theileriosis; mechanisms employed by Theileria annulata that transform its host cell; generation of extracellular vesicles by T. annualata infected leukocytes; generation of sub-unit vaccines against Theileria and related apicomlexan parasites.
