Dr. Kaul joined the research and development staff at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in 2012 after having worked at the lab as a postdoc since 2008. His current research includes projects aimed at enabling the use of alternative, low-lifecycle-carbon fuels in marine engines and understanding the impacts of marine diesel lubricants. He also has expertise in the characterization and control of cyclic combustion instabilities and abnormal SI combustion events and has conducted research related to second-law thermodynamic analysis of engine efficiency, dilute natural gas combustion, and optical spray diagnostics and imaging. Dr. Kaul is a member of ASME, SAE, and IEEE (Senior Member).
