个人简介
My research interests are focused on sustainable bio-synthetic routes to commodity chemicals. This includes biofuels and high-value chemicals as well as nitrogen compounds that could serve as valuable biofertilizers. We use a combination of genetics, microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, engineering and directed evolution to approach our long-term goals of finding feasible and economical solutions to major problems facing our modern society. Our model systems include Marinobacter aquaeolei VT8, Azotobacter vinelandii and several specific green algae and diatoms that we are developing into model systems to complement our long-term goals.
