Atmospheric chemist, also interested in biogeochemistry. My research involves spectroscopic measurements of methane, carbon dioxide, and halogen-containing trace gases in the atmosphere and surface waters of Earth's polar regions. In particular I'm interested in high latitude marine and freshwater fluxes of methane and carbon dioxide to and from the atmosphere, and how the scale and timing of those fluxes are changing in a warming Arctic. I'm also interested in the history of chemistry and chemistry education.
