The materials research of the Polyclinic for Dental Prosthetics deals with the ever-increasing variety of restoration materials in the fixed and removable prosthetics.

Under the direction of PD Dr. Stawarczyk, the focus of the research is on the characteristic material properties, surface characterization and modifications, composite mechanisms, abrasion resistance and fit accuracy measurements, which are investigated in vitro using modern analytical methods. In addition to the conventional processing of materials, the research team also focuses on digital technologies, manufacturing and fastening methods.

In addition to application research, basic research, optimization and new development of innovative dental and dental materials as well as their manufacturing technologies are of great importance to us. The interdisciplinary team consists of engineers, dental technicians and dentists and maintains close cooperation with institutes of other research institutions, universities and industry.
