Bogdan Alexandru Sava currently works in Research at the National Institute for Laser, Plasma and Radiation Physics. One of his projects is 'Innovative Materials and Processes for Selective Removal of Heavy Metals from Wastewater .' Other scientific activities in several projects are related to boron and alumino-phosphate glasses with dopants d and f for optoelectronics, photonics, magneto-optical applications and to bioglass and composites hydroxiapatite-bioglass. The research activity is related to materials science, including glass, ceramics, vitro-ceramics, other high purity materials and techniques for their synthesis, comprising melting-quenching, sintering, sol-gel, magnetron sputtering and pulsed laser deposition. Structure and properties of these materials are investigated too.
