Boce Zhang

Boce Zhang received the B.S. degree in chemistry from Tsinghua University, in 2008, and the Ph.D. degree in nutrition and food science from The University of Maryland, in 2012. He was an ORISE Fellow with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), from 2013 to 2016, and an Assistant Professor of biomedical and nutritional sciences with the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, from 2016 to 2021. He is currently an Assistant Professor of food microbiology with the University of Florida. His research interests include food safety and food microbiology. His research integrates multi-omics, machine learning, nanotechnology, and biointerface science to study the mechanisms of pathogen persistence. His research tackles problems and innovations in smarter food safety, agriculture 4.0, emerging pathogen and climate change, and space food systems.
