个人简介
Focusing on taxonomy, phylogeny and evolution of bark and ambrosia beetles and their origin within the greater scheme of weevils. Taxonomic work includes complete revisions of all Afrotropical fauna in the weevil subfamilies Scolytinae and Platypodinae. These beetles show interesting variation in feeding preferences and in reproductive biology. Bark and ambrosia beetles are therefore ideal for comparative analyses, tracing the origin of key evolutionary events related to host plant associations and to changes in reproductive modes.
