a) Multifunctional molecular sensing of DNA/RNA secondary structure by chemical sensors (Head Dr. Sc. Ivo Piantanida, senior scientist, IRB); principal investigator - design and synthesis of new fluorescent derivatives of nucleobases as hybrid multifunctional chemical sensors.
b) Purine salvage pathway enzymes from Helicobacter pylori and Escherichia coli (Head Dr. Sc. Marija Luić, senior scientist, IRB); principal investigator - synthesis of new purine nucleosides or their analogues and carbohydrate compounds as potential inhibitors of PNP and ADSS enzymes
2010-present: Leader and principal investigator of chemistry - spin off company BioZyne Ltd, company for research and development in the life sciences.
