Bio
Bernhard T. Rabus received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in physics from Technische Universität München, Munich, Germany, in 1988 and 1992, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in geophysics from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, Fairbanks, AK, USA, in 1997.
From 1997 to 2002, he was a Researcher with the Remote Sensing Technology Center, German Aerospace Center (DLR), Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany. In industry, from 2002 to 2014, he was a Senior Researcher with MDA, Richmond, BC, Canada, and from 2014 to 2016, he was the Research and Development Director of 3vGeomatics, Vancouver, BC, Canada. Concurrently, from 2006 to 2016, he was also an Adjunct Professor with the Centre for Natural Hazards, Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, BC, Canada. Since 2016, he has been a Full Professor at the School of Engineering Science, Simon Fraser University, and there holds the NSERC-MDA-CSA Industrial Research Chair in synthetic aperture radar. In this, function has built up the SFU SARlab Research Group with currently ten members. His interests cover research of novel technology; advanced methods; and application development for airborne, spaceborne, and terrestrial (mmWave) SAR.
