Bio
Bedrich J. Hosticka (M'80–SM'84–F'10) received the Dipl.-Ing. degree in electrical engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich, Switzerland, in 1972, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of California, Berkeley, CA, USA, in 1977.,He joined Siemens-Albis AG, Zurich, in 1972, where he was engaged in circuit design for the PCM-30 digital transmission system. From 1975 to 1977, he was a Research Assistant with the Electronics Research Laboratory, University of California. In 1976, he was with IBM T. J. Watson Research Center, Yorktown Heights, NY, USA, working on MOS amplifiers. He joined the Institute of Telecommunications, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich, in 1978, where his primary work was on the design of switched capacitor filters. From 1980 to 1985, he was with the Chair of Electron Devices, University of Dortmund, Dortmund, Germany. From 1985 to 2009, he was a Professor with the University of Duisburg-Essen, Duisburg, Germany, and the Head of the Signal Processing and Systems Design Department, Fraunhofer Institute of Microelectronic Circuits and Systems, Duisburg. In October 2009, he was a Consultant for the Fraunhofer Institute, Duisburg. He is the author or co-author of more than 400 technical papers. He has contributed several chapters to various books in the field of analog CMOS design and holds numerous patents in the same area. His current research interests include design of microelectronic circuits and systems, sensor signal processing, and CMOS imaging.,Dr. Hosticka was a co-recipient of the 1980 and 1981 IEE Electronics Letters Premium, the 1997 and 2000 Best Paper Award of the European Solid-State Circuits Conference, and the 2007 Best Paper Award of the European Conference on Circuit Theory and Design
