Bassam Al-Naami earned his Ph.D. degree in medical electronics and ergonomics from Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University, Russia, in 2000, and a High Diploma (five-year degree) in biomedical engineering from Stavropol State Technical University, Russia, in 1997. From 2001 to 2003, he served as a Visiting Researcher at the School of Engineering and Information Technology, University of Sussex, Brighton, U.K.
In 2003, he joined the Department of Biomedical Engineering at The Hashemite University, Zarqa, Jordan, where he currently holds the position of a professor. Since 2019, he has also been an Adjunct Professor with the BME Department and an Active Member of the Pharmacological and Diagnostic Research Center at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Amman, Jordan.
Dr. Al-Naami possesses multi-disciplinary research experience and background, encompassing signal and image processing, computer-aided design (CAD), biomedical instrumentation, and the ergonomics of virtual reality systems and haptic devices in medical and manufacturing applications. He has authored or coauthored more than 45 journal and conference papers.
In recognition of his outstanding contribution to reviewing, he has been honored by Elsevier and Springer Nature publishers. Additionally, The Hashemite University recognized him for Excellence in Scientific Research in 2013. He serves as an Associate Editor for the journal BMC Research Notes (Springer Nature), U.K. Furthermore, he has acted as a reviewer for more than 30 ISI-indexed international journals and has been a member of the Technical Program Committee (TPC) for over 25 conferences.
