Bio
My main research topic is the development of advanced theoretical models suitable for academic and engineering purposes for non-linear mechanics of reinforced concrete and masonry structures. I contributed to developing the DMEM (discrete macro-element) modelling approach for evaluating the seismic behaviour of historical and monumental masonry constructions, and I am co-author of the 3DMacro® and HiStrA® software., currently used in several countries worldwide. I developed, at Imperial College, the RAMBEA project (founded by the European Commission) focused on a new effective strategy to assess the ultimate strength of masonry arches bridges subjected to extreme loadings.
